Our story
It’s the story of two complementary brothers who wanted to try the entrepreneurial adventure by creating their own bakery. February 27, 2021, in the middle of the COVID period, is the day when Arnaud, a hardworking artisan (28 years old) and Mathieu, an agile salesman (26 years old) opened the bakery “Les Frères Barioz” at 64 Rue Duguesclin, Lyon 6th. The opening of the bakery is accompanied by basic principles:
- Everything will be homemade;
- With quality raw materials (Valrhona chocolate, Montaigu AOP butter, organic and local flour, Madagascar vanilla, etc.) ;
- A family environment both for customers and for the people who work with the two brothers ;
- A range of short and basic products, but very well crafted ;
- 100% leavened breads made from organic flour which ferment for more than 24 hours (better digestion and conservation).
These commitments go hand in hand with a basic objective: to become an ordinary neighborhood bakery. Discreet and modest.

– November 2021: filming of the Best Bakery in France, broadcast on M6 with Norbert Tareyre and Bruno Cormerais (Broadcast in March 2022)

– March 2022: report from BFM LYON on the making of the croissant
– November 2022: 3rd prize for Best Pain au chocolat du Rhône 2022
